Our client is a Project Management firm with offices throughout the World. It provides program management, project management, construction management and construction claims and consulting services.

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • A Bachelor Degree of Engineering / QS with MRICS or equivalent

  • A legal, commercial, or QS background is ideal

  • Previous knowledge of reviewing different contract commercial modules

  • FIDIC knowledge

  • Minimum of 20 years’ experience of undertaking commercial & legal reviews and the preparation of commercial and legal summaries

  • Extensive Experience working on Railway AND/OR Infrastructure projects.

  • Experience of negotiating commercial contracts to successful close out

  • A high level of commercial awareness including knowledge of current contract legislation

  • Ability to think ahead, identify new opportunities and create new and innovative approaches to work related issues

  • Demonstrates a determination, desire to succeed and a wish to progress and develop within a commercial role

  • Excellent working knowledge of Word, Excel, and strong user skill level within MS Office

  • Excellent numerical and communication skills

  • Hands on experience in variation orders, EOT Claims & Risk Analysis

 

General Description of Role & Responsibilities:

 

  • Review of contract terms and conditions for any new business opportunities and contract retenders identifying any key commercial risks and preparing legal summary as part of tender sign-off process

  • Leads contracts negotiation process with the client commercial interfacing with business development, operations and client commercial team as required

  • Preparation of contract guides and presentations to improve contract awareness and enable operations teams to understand and effectively manage key commercial and contractual risks

  • Undertake commercial audits against contract risk registers

  • Act as a key focal point for all legal and commercial issues within the division and provide assistance and advice to members of the contract operations team

  • Ensure that the contract operations teams are aware of key contractual commercial requirements, and implications of non-performance
