Electrical Resident Engineer - Telecoms

BWP are currently representing an international multi-disciplined consultancy who have a large portfolio of projects in the region. Due to their continued growth in Qatar they have an opening for an Electrical Resident Engineer with a focus on telecommunications.

Reporting to the Project Manager the Electrical Resident Engineer will be responsible for supervising the planning, coordination and implementation of the infrastructure construction projects.



  • Ensure the Contractor’s compliance with the Contract Documents
  • Inspect all workmanship and material.
  • Coordination with other Contractors
  • Review and approve the Contractor’s shop drawings
  • Resident Engineer is responsible for the Contract and is not to relieve the Contractor of his responsibilities without Client’s authorization
  • Check and certify progress payments to the Contractor
  • Check personnel, equipment and material costs for all Variation Orders and Change Orders required under the terms of the Contract
  • Review requests for additional compensation and time extension
  • Prepare Change Orders for all ‘Additional’ and ‘New’ works
  • Preparation of the Monthly Report
  • Site Safety Monitoring wherein the monitoring activities, meetings, reviews, safety violations, rectification measures, and accident reports are included in the Monthly Progress Report
  • Inspect safety conditions and inform the Contractor of construction safety violations and follow up action to be taken
  • Attend all meetings, and prepare written minutes for distribution
  • Check and approve “as-built” drawings submitted by the Contractor and maintain a status log



  • Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Proven experience in Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS)Projects
  • Familiar with telecommunication systems
  • Roads, Highways and Infrastructure experience
  • Must have contractor experience
  • Transferable NOC (for candidates based in Qatar)
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience
  • Proven effective capacity to supervise engineers and construction staffs
