Our client are a leading Transportation provider who are looking for a Maintenance of Way Plant and Equipment Technician for their office in Riyadh.

Reporting directly into the Maintenance of Way Foreman you will be responsible for:

  • As part of a multinational maintenance team tasked to maintain and repair client Maintenance of Way machines and attachments
  • Working both on site and within workshop environment to ensure specialised track maintenance equipment is maintained and repaired in line with company maintenance and operational policies and procedures
  • Keep and file appropriate records of work carried out, maintenance/inspection of machine and any machine faults found/rectified during scheduled maintenance events
  • Support initiatives to improve machine reliability, methods of work and cost reduction

Core Competencies

  • A thorough understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems
  • and the ability to diagnose and repair faults within those systems is essential
  • Experience in the repair, maintenance and overhaul of mechanical systems (engines, gearboxes, drives trains etc), hydraulic systems and electro / mechanical control systems in the railway environment
  • Experience in working in the railway environment in a site-based maintenance role
  • Experience of working in a time critical repair environment
  • Ability to undertake structural repairs on machines is desirable using MMA and/or MIG welding techniques

Key Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in relevant fields
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification
  • Knowledge of railway systems is desirable
  • Fluency in English is essential
  • Proficient in Microsoft packages (Word, Excel etc)
