Our client are a leading international Engineering consultancy who are looking for a Director of Programme Management Office for their office in Riyadh.

You will be responsible for:

  • 25+person team composed of technical professionals ranging from masterplanning, architecture, engineering, project management and controls, smart cities, etc. that are in effect part of the client organisation
  • Develop and lead the establishment and operation of the PMO providing both technical and management input
  • Prioritise projects based on set criteria and participate in strategic planning sessions and reviews
  • Understand the goals of each division and department and how those goals are aligned to the long-term strategy of the client organization
  • Work collaboratively to help prioritise the most appropriate projects
  • Propose appropriate contracting strategies that deliver project objectives
  • Allocate qualified resources accordingly
  • Regularly review progress toward completion of projects and programs and report on status of the program/portfolio
  • Communicate regularly, developing strong relationships across the organization and stakeholders
  • Develops project controls to ensure that objectives are met in a timely and cost effective manner
  • Recruits, supervises, counsels and mentors PMO employees and client employees that form part of the team
  • Plan, define and manage the development of standardized project management methodologies, tools, templates and procedure and dashboards

  • Good team leader able to motivate large multinational teams
  • Strong management and technical skills over a broad range of sectors and disciplines – being multidisciplinary in thinking is important
  • Proven record of successfully establishing and running a PMO for large scale firms
  • Proven experience in the fields of technical consulting and project/programme management on large scale programmes and PMO’s
  • Ability to manage confidential/politically sensitive information

Key Requirements

  • Must have as minimum a Bachelors’ degree in Architecture / Planning / Engineering
  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in relevant field / position
  • Ideally with Saudi or Middle Eastern experience and with good cultural understanding of the region
