Rolling Stock Senior Engineer (Maintenance)
BWP are currently representing a major Rail provider with an established presence in the Middle East. Due to the continued growth and demands of the business they have a number of exciting opportunities in the region.
Job Core Purpose:
- To undertake, lead and act as Responsible Person for the maintenance and repair of rolling stock
- The role will provide technical leadership and support skills development of rolling stock maintenance technicians, assistants and operating staff both in the field and within workshop environment
- Role will lead skills and methodology development to ensure repair, maintenance and operational requirements are met while delivering technical growth within the rolling stock department work in line with the organisations Safety Management Procedures and internal rolling stock Policy’s and schedule
- Fulfil the role of technical expert within identified area of specialism to deliver coaching and mentoring to workforce to meet the organisations Competency and Compliance Requirements
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Provide supervision and day to day management of rolling stock Workshop team ensuring company policies and standards are adhered to
- Provide technical expertise and specialist knowledge to oversee and undertake heavy maintenance and repair of rolling stock fleet
- Support and drive initiatives to reduce machine down time and extend component life by developing and implementing technical and engineering solutions across the rolling stock Fleet
- Ensure planned and reactive maintenance activities are undertaken in line with the organisations policies and procedures and assets entering service are fit for purpose and safe for use
Qualifications
- Trade qualifies (time serviced apprentice with minimum NVQ Level 4 or equivalent qualification)
- Apprentice trained, and time served (Electrical / Electro-Mechanical)
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in workshop supervision plus 10 years trade experience in repair, maintenance and overhaul of mechanical systems (engines, gearboxes, drive trains etc.), hydraulic systems and electro/mechanical control systems
