BWP is currently representing a leading energy company and international power producer who have a significant portfolio of assets globally across thermal power, water and renewable energy. The organisation is at the forefront of the Energy transition sector and has a number of Power to X projects in the pipeline including green hydrogen, green ammonia and synthetic aviation fuels projects.
We are looking for a senior engineering profile with experience in technical leadership for the development of major Power to X developments for the role of VP Engineering.
The position will work with development, finance and legal teams to drive technical topics with a focus on the process plant and hydrocarbon element of major clean fuels and carbon capture projects. The VP will lead detailed design, EPC design reviews and optimisation plus procurement, selection and management of OEM partners to ensure optimum technologies within the process and chemical engineering.
You will have chemical/process engineering experience in a major refinery, waste treatment or petrochemical plant in the FEED, feasibility or development stage from concept or tender to a financial close and be deep into the detail of design and how the engineering topics impact the commercials of a project. You will have an appreciation of renewable energy production and storage linked to hydrocarbons projects.
Key job requirements:
- Lead the technical development of Power to X (green hydrogen, ammonia etc) projects supporting including managing conceptual design, EPC design review, OEM evaluation, feasibility studies, yield analysis etc.
- Coordinate and manage 3rd party technical advisors in relation to energy transition, thermal power & water projects
- Assist in commercial contractual agreements EPC contracts, O&M agreements, Project Finance, PPA’s, term sheets etc – with a technical input on how the engineering impacts the commercial models.
- Market and maintain relationships with regard to available technology providers and contractors
- Drive technical inputs for financial models
- Stakeholder engagement and client leadership. Drive the relationships with internal counterparts in development, project finance and asset management.
