VP - Support Services

Our client are a Transportation provider with a large presence in the Middle East. To support growth in their business they are looking for a VP – Support Services in the Middle East office.

You will be responsible for:

  • To lead and direct the effective and efficient management of the Support Services business unit
  • Provide strategic direction and operations management for all Support Services including Supply Chain, HR & admin, Information Technology, Corporate Communications & Marketing and Legal
  • Facilitates the procurement process across all stages including preparation of RFP/RFI/RFQ, receipt of quotations, bids or proposals and evaluations
  • Coordinates with division heads to establish manpower plans and identify recruitment requirements for the relevant departments
  • Oversees and ensures that HR processes like handling employee grievances, approval on leave applications, resignations, transfers, termination, processing of end of service benefits at the time of retirement or resignation etc. are well managed
  • Oversees payroll related activities such as timely processing of salaries, entitlement reconciliation and entitlements maintenance
  • Formulates marketing and communications strategies based on environmental analysis, market research, competitive analysis and operational availability
  • Reviews and draws contracts with the required legal firms and client to provide their expertise in different aspects of the law where necessary

  • Provide leadership and direction to the preparation of the Support Services overall budget
  • Experience of overall management and direction of the company, to ensure that clear short, medium and longer-term goals and objectives are established, communicated and achieved to optimize business results and returns to shareholders
  • Maintain a network of internal and external contacts to ensure client has support to meet its overall goals and overcome its challenges
  • Direct the development and implementation of policies covering all areas of responsibility to ensure that all relevant procedural and legislative requirements are fulfilled and to ensure efficient, effective and safe operations
  • Demonstrating career success with progressively increasing managerial responsibilities

Key Requirements

  • University degree in Business or equivalent
  • Minimum 18 years’ relevant experience
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in the Railroad or Transportation
  • MBA or equivalent post-graduate degree preferred
